Monday 3 March, 7pm

The Grove House Tavern, 26 Camberwell Grove, SE5 8RE

Award-winning novelist Anna Mazzola brings the dark, gothic corners of the past alive in her historical crime fiction. Her debut The Unseeing won the Edgar Allen Poe Award and was based on a real murder in 19th Century Camberwell!

Join SE5 Forum’s next Camberwell Talk for a fascinating insight into the writer’s mind and life, as Anna, also a criminal justice solicitor, ventures into her first legal thriller Notes on a Drowning.

Anna Mazzola is an author of historical, Gothic and crime fiction. Her debut novel The Unseeing was based on a real murder in Camberwell in 1836 and won an Edgar Allan Poe award. Her fourth novel The House of Whispers won the Fingerprint Award for Best Historical Crime novel. Her bestselling third novel, The Clockwork Girl, was shortlisted for various awards but “didn’t bleeding win any of them”.

Her first legal/political thriller Notes on a Drowning will be published in January 2025 under the name Anna Sharpe. When not writing, Anna works as a human rights and criminal justice solicitor acting for survivors of crime. She lives in Camberwell with one husband, two children, a black cat and a snake.
