Camberwell Community Xmas on the Green
Thanks to everyone who participated in, volunteered at and enjoyed our FREE Camberwell Community Xmas last Saturday on Camberwell Green
Our free, fun festive event was launched by Southwark Mayor Michael Situ, Southwark Council leader Kieron Williams and Theatre Peckham artistic director Suzann McLean and actors from their show Rapunzel, who read out a poem in honour of Camberwell’s community!
As well as the active kids’ games, crafts and food decoration stalls, the event also provided free lunch, food, clothes, toiletries, cost of living advice and free health checks and information.
You can watch a reel of this fantastic community event here on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.
Thanks to all our local partners and participants and food sponsors: Spring Community Hub, Theatre Peckham, Amuru Charity, Havinabubble Ltd, Partnership Southwark, Southwark Pensioners, Camberwell Arts, Pedal Me, Excel Beyond Barriers CIC, Camberwell Community Choir, The Scottish Session, Southwark Black Parents Forum, Southwark Wellbeing Hub, Good Gym Southwark, Southwark Young Advisors, Wine Box Company (WBC), Co-op, Budgens, Morrisons, and Holland & Barrett. Thanks to United St Saviours charity for funding the event.

Thanks to all who responded by email or on our Twitter/X poll to vote for the tree to replace the old Chestnut tree on Camberwell Green, which was diseased and removed. The foxglove came out a clear winner and we will pass this information to Southwark Council’s tree department, who are also taking comments directly. Read the full notice from Southwark Council here.
