Learning new cookery skills for free

Learning new cookery skills for free

Be Enriched have an exciting new project to share with you. CooksForce is a cookery project that the people you support could benefit from.

Background information on Be Enriched:
Be Enriched was founded, in 2013, by a group of youth workers, arts professionals and young people to provide relevant projects and develop non-formal education skills and community cohesion through training and overseas volunteering opportunities. Over the past years, we have worked with young and disadvantaged people in London, Wales and Scotland and European youth organisations projects around European citizenship, UK based inter-generational theatre, disabled toddler groups and community food.

Be Enriched works with local community and youth to bring people together around food (community meals, fight against food waste, etc.).

PROJECT ORACLE

PROJECT ORACLE Children & youth EVIDENCE HUB

Starting in Autumn 2016, Project Oracle, in collaboration with MOPAC, are offering a programme of free evaluation support to organisations working to reduce youth reoffending, or help young people to exit gangs.

What is the Youth Justice Cohort?

Successful applicants will be members of the Youth Justice Cohort. They will be supported to use the newly created MOPAC Outcomes Framework which recommends tools for measuring the progress young people make in key outcomes, related to reducing crime. They will also receive free training sessions and invitations to exclusive events throughout the year. The programme is designed to empower members by improving their ability to evaluate programmes in line with the framework and share ideas about effective evaluation.

A select group of 10 – 15 organisations will also receive bespoke one-to-one support to improve their evaluation capacity over the course of a year. This can include:

  • Creating a Theory of Change
  • Designing an evaluation plan
  • Support to analyse data and report on results
  • Validation at Project Oracle Standards 1,2 or 3.
  • A research placement to support an evaluation over several months

Improving planned orthopaedic care – an event for Lambeth people

Improving planned orthopaedic care – an event for Lambeth people

The NHS in south east London is trying to improve services for non-emergency patients who have their orthopaedic care (eg hip and kneed replacements) planned in advance.
We are considering changes that might require a formal public consultation.

To inform this we want to speak to specific groups of people – those who are most likely to need orthopaedic care and who could be affected by any changes we might make. We’d like to talk about the changes we are considering – whether there is anything missing, and our approach to consultation. We want to make sure that we do the best we can to get views in so that any future consultation will run well.

This event is for you if you –

  • live in Lambeth and are
  • an older person
  • a disabled person or
  • a carer

We’d like to hear from you too if you have had or think you might need a hip or knee replacement because of problems you are currently facing with your joints, bones, ligaments, tendons, muscles or nerves. We want to improve services for people who have this type of care, planned in advance. Community organisations working directly with these groups in Lambeth are also warmly welcome.

We will explain our ideas and plans at the event, but if you would like to find out more before coming, you can visit the Our healthier South-east London website

Light refreshments will be provided.
Please register for this event here

If you have any queries please phone 020 3049 4444 and ask to speak with a member of NHS Lambeth CCG admin team.

With best wishes and we look forward to seeing you on 30th September.

Catherine Flynn
Engagement and Equalities Manager, NHS Lambeth CCG
